Give Dogs Water

People often forget and leave them in the car. People leave them in the garden chained up with no shade from the roasting sun. People leave them in the house with no water. People take them to the pub and leave them sat there in the sun panting for water. People take them on walks where they get sooo thirsty. Many dogs suffer and die each year because of this.

This summer we may see record temperatures again. Make sure you give your dog access to water. If on a walk take some with you. DONT EVER LEAVE THE DOG IN A CAR, EVER, NEVER. Make sure that if you keep the dog outside that he/she has some shade and plenty of water! Make sure the dog cant knock the water over. Leave 2 or 3 bowls of water around the house!

Summer 2008

We have had the first hot weather of 2008 this week.  Already I have passed a few pubs where there are guys outside drinking beer – their dogs are by their side with their tongues out watching.   Why dont people simply pop into the bar and get a glass of  tap water for the dog?  It would take 10 seconds and the dogs would be so happy! It is as if it simply does not occur to the owners.  We need to raise the awareness, and make it a habbit… If you are out in hot weather take something that you can fill with water for your dog, or ask at the bar.  Obviously lots of people do this, but also lots dont.
